Take the time and make the effort to align your habits with your goals and dreams. Improving those little habits can truly be the biggest decision you make.  — Ralph Marston

This year my blog and my writing have developed well. Because of this, let’s see how I can use my blog to make my goals come into fruition.

1. Lose weight: Yeah it’s the same frigging goal like last year. This time I’m really going to do it by embarrassing the shit out of myself publicly. I’m thinking this method may work for me. Inspiration:

50 Million Pounds

2. Write more: The goal is to have at least 104 posts for the 2010 year. That’s the exact equivalent to having 2 posts per week, but it may not turn out to be this way necessarily. The gist of the goal is to stimulate my writing habits and to simply have at least 104 posts in one year.  Inspirations:

Midnight Fire

3. Finish paying off my debt: This one is probably the easiest of the goals, but for someone in the lower-middle-class bracket, it’s a feat of amazing money management, for which I have very little self-control.

4. Make a life map: I’m not happy here in this town, but for the time being  I am making the best of it; no one likes a sour puss. However, my soul is not happy and I don’t want to live with a life of regret. I need to sit down and write about what I want to do with my life… and post it here.

5.  Read at least 5 good books: Since I left El Paso and UTEP, it seems as if I have not dedicated any time to reading a good book. Luckily I read ‘The Lost Symbol’ this year and this has stimulated my brain quite a bit!

6. Draw at least one piece of art a month: I love to draw and usually draw when I am happy.  I’ve looked at my portfolio, and it’s looking quite meager. I will strive to draw (at least) one piece of art per month, in any medium, format or colors. My inspirations are:

One Drawing for Every Page of Moby Dick

Kris Atomic

7. Think deeply: I was a Philosophy major for a reason! I enjoy thinking deeply… topics ranging from conspiracy theories to the origin of species, it’s all sorts of stuff I ♥ to think and write about. My friend Jose and I can spend hours talking about philosophy. I resolve to record our philosophy talks and blog about them.

8. Save up enough money for down payment of a Mazda RX-8

9. Be more involved in this community

10.  Take at least One Personal Vacation: I want to go back to Taos, NM or Tohatchi, NM.

I think that all for now. These are easier to attain and plan to use this blog as a vehicle of success!

What are your goals for 2010?

  1. It is both gratifying and deeply humbling to be mentioned as an inspiration. When I began my own creative project, I set up the blog just in case some of my good friends and family members in other states would like to see it. To know that it has had this kind of positive effect on others is amazing, and your comments have really been a ray of light and wonder for me. Thank you.

  2. I'd say that losing weight is probably one of the most important to me. In second place is to complete a life map of some sort. Obviously these things dont go as planned, but it's always good to have a plan (and several contingency plans!) in line.
