There is a type of art that I love doing the most above others and that is graffiti art. I may not be able to make mind bending art like some others can, but I have my own unique style of graf, and it has held to be true throughout all these years.
I started Graffiti art when I was about 12. I was going through a ‘chola’ phase at the time, and being a good artist, I thought that maybe by drawing Graffiti, I would gain some sort of street cred. It didn’t get me any ‘street’ cred per say, but I did get quite a following from the age of 14 up until I finished high school.
I remember being involved with the Gadsden High School Student Council, and I was asked to make some Graffiti art for the Spring Fling talent show. I was so proud.
So Graffiti is definitely one of those things I love to do. Every time I put a pencil or pen to paper, I generally start drawing words in Graffiti form.
This “Moreno” piece is one I just recently finished for my long time boyfriend since that’s his last name. I like it…it’s one of the most colorful ones I have done. I usually stick to 3 colors max, but I think this one turned out quite well!
