Just a post to explain the extended absence that will end as of now, as far as I know.
Firstly, I was thinking about moving my blog over to WordPress (Gasp! Blasphemy!) That did not work out. Not only did I jumble things up at Go Daddy with the routing, but WordPress charges $15 in order to have your blog forwarded to a custom domain.
Why would I want to pay for something I already get for free through Blogger?
Not only this, but I love Google. If I could marry it, I would*. The idea that I all of my services run through one central vein just enthralls me! My Google Dashboard will attest to that. In the end, this may end up being my very downfall, but for the time being, I am enjoying Google fully.
Also, I’ve got enough written content on here that I am at the point that I want to make this page to aesthetically represent more of who I am. Unfortunately my only experience with graphic design is Microsoft Paint and Picasa. That won’t do for the vision I have for my blog here.
I researched high and low for a designer. At first I was only going to get a custom header done. Then I was going to do it myself by paying for a premium Blogger theme. But then I decided I want something really snazzy.
Having something that screams ‘Crysti’ all over it is a hard feat, I’d have to say. Hell, sometimes I can’t even define myself at days. I found Chic and Sassy designs, but unfortunately the girl has a lot of work on her shoulders.
Then I found Blogger Boutique. Angels descended upon my PC when I saw her work. It’s EXACTLY what I was looking for! Little by little, I am deciding what I want on the design which elements to incorporate and most importantly, which font to use.
{life.} In other ‘life’ news, Halloween Weekend 2009 was great! There is only one crummy bar in Clovis and to come from a city where a new bar, nightclub or lounge opens up every other month is a hard pill to swallow. Luckily, I was introduced to The Landing, an auditorium of sorts located on Cannon Air Force base by a mutual friend. Friday the 30th was almost a no-go. First, we weren’t sure if we could get in without military ID, and Secondly, people started chickening out.
Due to genetics and my full frame, I can handle a long night of liquid fun. I forgot how many drinks I had that night, but I am sure it was well over 9. Spent the fun with Miguel (last minute vampire), Yolanda (cat), Victoria (referee), David (zombie doctor) and Jose as himself.
I dressed as a Victorian vampire and had planned it out many months in advance because this is what I will continue to be until I get seriously bored of being a vamp. I bought my dress from Lingerie.com, boots on eBay, teeth from Vamp Fangs, makeup and hose from Ami Club Wear and contacts from Secret Eyes. Not exactly the ‘greenest’ ensemble, but I’ll use it for many years!
Unfortunately due to my face in general, people mistook me for a Geisha. To one guy of the many that mentioned it, I said, ‘No! I’m a Vampire!’ to which he then he said, ‘…a Chinese Vampire?’ **
Halloween Day went without a hitch either. Took my son Benjamin, who was dressed as the Transformer Bumblebee, to North Plains Mall for candy, went door-to-door Trick or Treating, then went home popped some corn and watched ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ for the rest of the night. It was a perfect Halloween!

Made Eggs Hollandaise ♥ Rearranged my ‘Chill Room’ ♥ Got a new puppy, Bella ♥ Kicked it on a handmade hammock
{on the net.} Writing for the other blog ‘Clovis Pulse’ has resumed as well. I wrote two blog posts in a row a couple weekends ago, and thought I’d wait a little before I presented my next article. I wanted to make sure others got their articles in as well. I’m stoked about the project, as far as I know there aren’t any other Clovis-centric blogs that actually sound cool, like our does. Follow the buzz on Twitter @ClovisPulse or subscribe to the feed. Here are some of the posts I wrote this past month:
Clovis Women’s Health and Wellness Day
Clovis Main Street Downtown Gala 2009
I also ‘powered up’ my Evernote to Premium, and am writing notes, clipping, importing and syncing like a mad woman. It’s like my brain on steroids and I love it. If it’s not enough that I use it on a daily basis, this post from Andrew Maxwell gives 100 MORE different uses for Evernote.
So that’s what’s been keeping me away from here, hoping to get this ship running like I want it to soon!

* No, I would not marry an inanimate object. I may be nutty but not THAT nutty.
**I am not Chinese, or Asian, in any shape, way or form. I’m 100% Brown n’ proud.
