This is my first attempt at making any kind of recorded walk through. I have been dying to get Lil Jon voice snippets for use on my phone and all I could seem to find were soundboards which were initially of no use to me.

Surely there had to extract the MP3 and other media out of the soundboard, right? Luckily I tracked down a method, but found absolutely no walk through’s explaining the process. Although this isn’t a technical blog, you can see HERE that on occasion, I’ll post the random walk through if I think it’ll be of any benefit to my readership.

If you don’t have the time to listen to my tired, 2 am voice in the above video, I’ll break it down for you here:

  1. Download Mozilla Firefox
  2. Find the SWF (Macromedia Flash) Sound board that you’re interested in.
  3. Right click the website (not the actual sound board) and click on ‘View Page Info’
  4. Click on the ‘Media’ tab
  5. Find the file with the ‘.swf’ extension and click ‘Save As…’
  6. Save the soundboard wherever you like.
  7. Go to Download.com and search for WINSWF
  8. Download and install WINSWF. This software has been tested and confirmed to have no malware or viruses.
  9. Run WINSWF and open the Sound board that you previously saved.
  10. WINSWF will automatically display all media files embedded in the SWF file.
  11. Preview the files with the included media player and choose the media you’d like to keep.
  12. Right click the desired file and click on ‘Save As…’
  13. Save the file, rename it and do what you will with it.

Voilà, et finis!

  1. It does not work well for me, i get the file. Then i try to get the mp´3 out with WIN SWF extractor but it does not work. It says: 24.0 is not a fair floating point value.
