I always love these personality discovering tests because I truly like to learn what others might perceive me as! Silly, I know, but it is my philosophy that to better understand yourself, it is important to understand how others see you.
So thanks to Twitter, I discovered MyPersonality, a site that tests your personality and tries its best to place you into one of the 16 Jungian personality types. My personality was pegged as an INFP which stands for: Introverted, Intuition, Feeling, Perceiving. Better explained by them:
“INFPs are introspective, private, creative and highly idealistic individuals that have a constant desire to be on a meaningful path. They are driven by their values and seek peace. Empathetic and compassionate, they want to help others and humanity as a whole. INFPs are imaginitive, artistic and often have a talent for language and writing. They can also be described as easygoing, selfless, guarded, adaptable, patient and loyal.”
They also offer a very cool badge you can embed on your blog or what-have-you. Here’s mine:
It’s VERY cool to see J.R.R. Tolkien in the list of INFP’s!
There is also a ‘Multiple Intelligence’ test, which really matched me quite well, wouldn’t you say?
I’d like to read your results, post them here or on Twitter @crysticouture!
I've never liked the 2% number. I seems in accurate considering I seem to meet more INFPs than INT types.I like the percentages from CAPT.http://www.capt.org/mbti-assessment/estimated-frequencies.htm
Corin: nice to meet a fellow INFP! The test did indicate only 2% of the poplace would be INFP's however, I am certain there are many more!Matt: INTP fits you ever so nicely!! Your engineering aptitude is clearly apparent in the meticulous methodology of your art. Spot on with the intent of your current project!
According to the test, I am an INTP or The Engineer. I suppose that's fairly accurate although I am generally a bundle of paradoxes and contradictions so it is often difficult for me to answer questions like these accurately. Some of the results seem very spot-on, while some I truly don't think portray me at all (i.e. not revealing, unemotional, and so on). And that's not just me wishing those things weren't true, I really don't think they are. However, given my current art project, the "They have the ability to focus intently on a subject" part seems right on.
I like the Myer-Briggs Type Indicator. That's the official test which you can only take with a professional in the psyche field. All these online test is shorten variations of it.The letters indicate what you do when you don't think about it. Not what you are. For example, the MBTI doesn't really tell you if a person likes to skydive or not. The New Personality Self-Portrait (which isn't online) does. I love combining the MBTI and the PSP. In combination, I think those tests compliment each other so well. Also, I'm an INFP.
